Photographer John Russo has told ABC News that flaws in a so-called "unretouched" image of Cindy Crawford are fake, according to "Good Morning America."

The photo of the supermodel, which went viral last month, apparently was taken for a shoot featured in the December 2013 issue of Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America. Russo was the photographer.
Russo said the picture was "stolen or unlawfully accessed and then altered and distributed to the media."
"It has been falsely claimed that this photograph represents an unretouched image of Cindy Crawford," he said. "This is not true. It is a fraudulent altered version of my photograph."
