This year, “we’re not expecting an outburst,” NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke told Space.com. “But the Ursids have surprised us before.”

- Ursids: This isn't a very active shower. It usually peaks around Dec. 21-22. It only produces about 5 to 10 meteors per hour. The moon shouldn't interfere.
