From left, Jacob Reed, Kyle Waterbury, and Colby Breaux are some of the evacuees who are staying at McKinney Falls State Park on Saturday, September 13, 2008. The men are from Nederland where many of their friends decided to stay and ride out Hurricane Ike. "Only my friends with kids left, the rest stayed," Reed said, adding that evacuating was expensive and many people had to leave just weeks ago during Hurricane Gustav which made it hard to leave again for Ike. During Gustav the men and their families stayed at a state park near Dallas. They have made a reservation to stay at McKinney Falls through the end of next week and Breaux heard reports that his home was heavily damaged.
