-FEB. 24, 2016: No. 5 Xavier 90, No. 1 Villanova 83, basketball. J.P. Macura got Xavier rolling with 19 points off the bench, and freshman point guard Edmond Sumner had 19 points and nine assists as the Musketeers won at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati.
-JAN. 3, 2003: Ohio State 31, Miami 24 2 OTs, football. The national championship Fiesta Bowl pitted the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes (12-0) against the top-ranked Hurricanes (13-0). OSU shocked Miami and much of the nation in a contest that Sports Illustrated said is regarded as one of the greatest college football games of all-time.

-DEC. 18, 1999: Xavier 66, University of Cincinnati 64, basketball. In the last Crosstown Shootout at the Cincinnati Gardens, Xavier nipped the top-ranked Bearcats with two late free throws and a breakaway dunk by Kevin Frey.
-MARCH 24, 1962: University of Cincinnati 71, Ohio State 59, basketball. Facing each other in the NCAA national title game for the second straight year, the No. 2 Bearcats behind tourney Most Outstanding Player Paul Hogue knocked off the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes, who had Middletown All-American Jerry Lucas, Greeneview's Gary Bradds, as well as John Havlicek and Bob Knight.

-MARCH 25, 1961: UC 70, Ohio State 65, basketball. The Bearcats had four players score in double figures to offset a 27-point, 12-rebound effort by Lucas, who – in a losing effort - was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
