Tyquan Lewis returning to Ohio State Buckeyes for senior season

Decision means entire defensive line will be back

Tyquan Lewis stemmed the tide of Ohio State Buckeyes declaring their intentions to enter the NFL Draft, announcing Monday he’s been proud to be a part of four Ohio State teams but that he’s hungry for more.

Lewis, of Tarboro, N.C. led the Buckeyes with 10.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks.

The return of Lewis, who will be a fifth-year senior, means the Buckeyes will return their entire defense line. Sam Hubbard announced after the 31-0 loss to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 he will be back. Jalyn Holmes, Dre’Mont Jones, Michael Hill, Davon Hamilton, Nick Bosa and Robert Landers will also return. All were part of a deep defensive line rotation.

The list of Ohio State players who are leaving, however, is a long one.

Curtis Samuel announced his decision Monday.

Noah Brown made his choice Saturday.

* Malik Hooker, Raekwon McMillan and Gareon Conley are also leaving.
