HS Roundup 12/5: Tri-Village beats FM in battle of unbeatens

Tri-Village came away victorious in a matchup of unbeaten Cross County Conference girls basketball squads on Thursday.

Visiting Tri-Village pulled ahead early, winning 63-37 to improve to 5-0.

Morgan Hunt led the way with 20 points, Rylee Sagester added 14 and Maddie Downing 13.

Chloe McGlinch led Franklin Monroe with 15 points, all off of three-point baskets.

Girls Basketball

Arcanum 74, Bethel 43: Hailey Unger led four players in double-digit scoring for Arcanum with 21 points. Taylor Gray added 10 points with 16 rebounds and Kayla O’Daniel had 16 points with 11 rebounds.

Covington 53, Twin Valley South 31: Claudia Harrington finished with 22 points and Morgan Kimmel added 13 for Covington. Taylor Bowers paced TVS with 17 points.

Eaton 57, Brookville 37: Bailey Shepherd poured in a career-high 28 points to pace Eaton.

Franklin 67, Monroe 56: Four players reached double-digit scoring for Franklin, led by Brooke Stover with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Rogers added 16 points, Madison Earles 15 and Kristin Earles 13.

Mechanicsburg 48, West Jefferson 24: Kasey Schipfer recorded 22 points, Grace Forrest added 10 and ‘Burg pulled away late, closing the game on a 17-0 run.

Miami East 53, Tri-County North 20: Rori Hunley led Miami East with 11 points and Camryn Miller and Cadence Gross added 10 apiece.

New Bremen 51, Coldwater 39: Kaylee Freund chipped in 23 points and Madison Cordonnier added 10 for New Bremen. Lauren Gilliland led Coldwater with 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Newton 54, Mississinawa Valley 44: Kailey Heisey put up 15 points, Jaden Stine 14 and Camryn Gleason 11 to lead Newton.

Valley View 59, Oakwood 34: Abigail Dickson totaled 16 points and Aubrey Stupp 15 for Valley View.

West Liberty-Salem 47, Triad 14: Selena Weaver scored 15 points to help WLS improve to 2-0 in conference play.

Yellow Springs 48, Miami Valley 36: Angie Smith poured in 26 points and Haneefah Jones hauled in 12 rebounds to pace Yellow Springs.

Carroll 2592, Alter 2315: Jackson Mitchell rolled a 438 series to lead Carroll. Conner Glynn had a 413 series for Alter.

Greeneview 2478, West Liberty-Salem 2314: Isaac Riblet bowled a 214 game in the loss for WLS.

Miamisburg 2161, Xenia 2036: Andrew Wheelers paced Miamisburg with a 426 series and Deven Parkers added a 422.

Middletown 2328, Valley View 2190: Ethan Rowe tallied games of 208 and 236 and Matthew Minor added games of 195 and 202 for Middletown.

Mechanicsburg 2375, Madison Plains 2124: Eli Mayberry had a 451 series and Jack Wolf a 379 for ‘Burg.

Girls Bowling

Alter 2200, Carroll 2018: Allie Popp notched a 374 series to lead Alter. Heather Thomas bowled a 369 series for Carroll.

Middletown 1809, Valley View 1622: Toni Mullins shot a career-high 215 game for Middletown.
