HS Roundup 8/12: Record day for Fort Loramie at W-G Invitational

Boys Golf

Waynesfield-Goshen Invitational: Zach Pleiman tied a school record with a 72 and Fort Loramie shot a 311 overall to break a 19-year-old school record on the way to winning the tournament. Adam Ballas added a 75 and Devin Ratermann a 79 for Fort Loramie.

Clark County Tournament: Brady Jacobs (Kenton Ridge), Dylan Schetter (Greenon), Ian Anderson (Greenon), Brayden Tosi (Kenton Ridge), Connor Lyons (Springfield Shawnee) and Travis Houseman (Kenton Ridge) were named all-county after the tournament held at Elks 51. Kenton Ridge finished first with a 335, Tecumseh second at 363 and Springfield Shawnee third at 374.

Troy Invitational: Centerville scored a 287 to lead the way for the tournament at Troy Country Club. Springboro was second with 324 and Tippecanoe third at 327. Centerville’s Eric Cherubini carded a 66 to lead the field and Tippecanoe’s Nathan Gagnon and Centerville’s Will Owen shot 72 to split at runner-up. Brendan Siehl matched a career-low with a 76 for Northmont.

Lancer Invitational: St. Henry won the tournament at Hickory Sticks for the third consecutive season. Nate Niekamp led the way for St. Henry with an 81 and Andrew Mescher and Reed Koesters each added an 82. Logan Gatimeter had an 82 for Delphos Jefferson.

Bellbrook 159, Milton-Union 167, Waynesville 183, Xenia 183: Zach Crampton posted the low score of 35 for Bellbrook in the quad match. Bryce Cumbow of Waynesville and Gabe Hine of Bellbrook were runner-up at 39 and Max Grafflin of Milton-Union shot a 40.

Fairbanks 165, Ben Logan 183: Ethan Ricketts tallied a 41 and Alex Naragon a 44 in a losing effort for Ben Logan.

Minster 158, Delphos St. John’s 180: Grant Voisard of Minster and Jack Gerker of Delphos SJ’s tied at 37 for medalist honors.

Monroe 165, Northridge 207: Alex Gomia and Jackson Baker of Monroe split medalist honors with a 38. Dylan Triplett paced Northridge at 50.

New Knoxville 217, New Bremen 219: Brandon Smith posted a 48 and Trent Lehman a 51 to lead New Knoxville.

Valley View 172, Eaton 182: Ben Neff and Rylan Craft each shot a 42 to lead Valley View.

Girls Golf

Beavercreek Invitational: Centerville scored a 307, beating Ursuline by a stroke to win in the tournament at Beavercreek Golf Club. Springboro was third at 345 and Ben Logan fourth with a 357. Kenna Jenkinson led Greenville with an 85. Sam DeSpain shot a 95 for Northmont.

Clark County Tournament: Lyndsey Beck (Tecumseh), Elyse Frazier (Tecumseh), Avory Mayenshen (Greenon), Olivia Workman (Southeastern), Isabella DeMayo (Springfield Shawnee) and Katie Baneck (Northeastern) were tabbed to the all-county team. Northeastern beat Greenon by four strokes to win the tournament.

Bethel 219, Riverside 234: Olivia Reittinger led the field for Bethel with a 51 and Kenna Gray shot a 55. Mia Stallard had a 52 for Riverside.

St. Henry 191, Coldwater 215: Laney Finke tallied a 47 and Emma Eckstein 48 in a losing effort for Coldwater.

Co-Ed Golf

Alter 160, Dayton Christian 260: Dylan Bower posted the low score of 57 for Dayton Christian.

Girls Tennis

Lehman Catholic 4, Northridge 1: Angela Brunner won 6-0 6-0 in first singles to lead Lehman Catholic.

Middletown 4, Fenwick 1: Arianna Layne, Izzy Fonseca and Hannah Wilson swept the singles matches for Middletown.

Girls Soccer

Coldwater 2, Newton 1: Ava Giere scored a Coldwater breakaway goal in the first half and assisted Blair Muhlenkamp on a cross for the game-winning score.
