Mickayla Perdue poured in 28 points and Springfield rallied for a 58-50 win in a Division I girls basketball sectional opener at Troy on Saturday.
Perdue also had six rebounds with four steals and Trinity Morton-Nooks recorded 14 points with four blocks for Springfield, which had a 12-point swing in the final quarter to pull away.
Tylah Yeomans scored 20 points in a losing effort for Piqua.
Springfield moves on to face Fairmont on Tuesday at Troy, 6 p.m.
Arcanum 64, New Bremen 56: Carter Gray scored 17 points, including his 1,000th career point, and also broke the Arcanum’s three-point record.
Brookville 67, National Trail 64, OT: Wade Turner scored 20 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to power Brookville. A.J. Eller added 15 and Jacob Gudorf 12. Cameron Harrison had 21 points for National Trail.
Beavercreek 62, Little Miami 48: Yousef Saleh and Brayden Walther led ‘Creek with 13 points apiece and Adam Duvall chipped in 12.
Coldwater 58, Wapakoneta 49: Marcus Bruns scored 21 points and Cole Frilling tacked on 15 to help Coldwater hold off a Wapak rally.
Fairlawn 52, Lehman Catholic 43: Skyler Piper put up 20 points and Ashton Piper added 14 for Fairlawn. Brendan O’Leary paced Lehman Catholic with 14 points.
Minster 66, Anna 64: Jack Heitbrink scored 18 points, leading four players in double-digit scoring to help Minster upset the No. 5 ranked team in the state. Bart Bixler totaled 27 points for Anna.
Troy Christian 71, Miami Valley 34: Isaac Gray led Troy Christian with 13 points. Casey Edgerley paced Miami Valley with 12 points.
Centerville 64, Stebbins 21: Cotie McMahon scored 18 points with 10 rebounds for Centerville, which moved to 21-2.
Northmont 59, Troy 28: Northmont jumped ahead early with a 14-2 run to open the game.
Springboro 65, Fairborn 23: Karlie Winship and Olivia Majors put up 11 points apiece and McKel Nation tacked on 10 for ‘Boro.
Tecumseh 71, Miamisburg 45: Corinne Thomas recorded 24 points, Presley Griffitts added 17 and Mackenzie Pauley 11 for Tecumseh. Macy Berner also hauled in 10 rebounds.
Bellbrook 42, Dunbar 24: Olivia Greathouse powered Bellbrook with 11 points.
Franklin 53, Ross 16: Jordan Rogers chipped in 19 points and Layne Ferrell 18 for Franklin.
Springfield Shawnee 41, Northwestern 32: Paree Furness led Shawnee with 10 points. Kyndall Berner scored 17 points for Northwestern.
Miami East 47, Carlisle 40: Morgan Haney totaled 15 points, Camryn Miller 12 and Maria Staton 10 for Miami East, which held off a rally effort to pull out the win. Caitlyn Stewart led Carlisle with 13 points.
Preble Shawnee 51, Indian Lake 25: Brenna Woodard scored 13 points and Logan Hollon added 11 points with 11 rebounds to pace Preble Shawnee.
West Liberty-Salem 47, Brookville 24: Gabby and Emily Hollar combined for 29 points to help WLS move to 20-3.
Covington 56, Tri-County North 19: Samantha Whiteman exploded for 31 points to lead Covington.
Franklin Monroe 51, Dayton Christian 31: Corina Conley chipped in 25 points and Chloe McGlinch added 10 to lead Franklin Monroe. Camryn Collinsworth finished with 17 points for Dayton Christian.
Central Buckeye Conference Meet: Johnny Shafer was awarded the Mad River Division’s Outstanding Wrestler, Tanner Jordan earned the CBC Sportsmanship Award and Graham won its 26th consecutive league championship.
Ohio Heritage Conference Championship: Jesse Stroud, Luke Stroud, Jake Hurst, Westyn Moyer, Aaron Conley and Jaron Patterson all had first-place finishes to help lead ‘Burg to the win. Greenon finished second, West Jefferson third and Greeneview fourth.
Dayton City Gymnastics Championships: Molly Witzerman placed second in the all around and Keala McCurry placed second on the vault to help Miamisburg win the tournament and post the highest score, a 141.1, in school history.
