HS Roundup 1/14: Centerville knocks off No. 3 team in state

Centerville girls basketball went on the road and defeated the number three team in the state Mt. Notre Dame 70-56.

Sam Chable of Centerville led the way with 17 points and teammate Amy Velasco added 14.

Alexis Hutchison tallied 13 and Kenzie Smith tacked on 10.

Centerville, ranked No. five in last weeks state poll, improved to 14-1.

Boys Basketball

Anna 60, St. Henry 44: Griffin Doseck paced Anna with 20 points, Riley Huelskamp added 12 and Bart Bixler tacked on 10. St. Henry’s Zach Niekamp scored 17 points.

Coldwater 67, Celina Senior 39: Coldwater’s Marcus Bruns scored 20 points, Cole Frilling recorded 14, Ben Wenning added 12 and Myles Blasingame tacked on 10.

Girls Basketball

Carroll 56, Tippecanoe 39: Liz Bush of undefeated Carroll scored 21 points and Julia Keller added 15. Jillian Brown led Tippecanoe with 10 points.

Catholic Central 44, Yellow Springs 36: Catholic Central’s Ayanna Doolittle recorded 14 points, Abbigail Peterson added 13, Mallory Mullen tacked on 11

Dunbar 67, Meadowdale 13: Monet Allen led Dunbar in scoring with 10 points.

Kenton Ridge 63, Northmont 54: Mikala Morris of Kenton Ridge poured in 30 points. Northmont’s Katie McCrary led with 16 points, Heath added 13 and Cooper tacked on 11.

Miamisburg 52, Stebbins 28: Miamisburg’s Anna Long led with 18 points and Kirah Pringle added 10.

Milton-Union 48, Greenville 33: Olivia Brown dropped in 18 points for Milton-Union and Kristen Dickerson 11. Greenview’s Haleigh Mayo scored 12 points.

Springfield 72, Bellefontaine 28: Mickayla Perdue set a school record with 45 points and added 10 steals and Trinity Morton-Nooks added 14 points with 11 rebounds.
