HS Roundup 4/19: Carroll’s Bethel notches 2,000th career assist

Spencer Bethel notched his 2,000th career assist as Carroll’s boys volleyball team swept Chaminade Julienne.

The team took the sets 25-19, 26-24 and 27-25.

Bethel finished with 35 assists and 10 digs.

Josh Brun tacked on 13 kills and three blocks, while Cameron Pronvonsil rounded Carroll out with seven kills.

Baseball

Centerville 13, Alter 0: Joe Requarth picked up his first varsity win in the shutout. Morgan Colopy, Matt Wagner and Sterling Hill all ran for triples for Centerville.

Fenwick 5, McNicholas 3: Zach Lorei earned the win and Sam Secrest the save as Fenwick slipped past McNicholas. Adam Brian and Keegan Corbett hit for two each.

Kenton Ridge 2, Northwestern 1: Quinton Roach tallied two hits in the win, while Christian Highfield countered with two hits in the losing effort.

Lebanon 11, Talawanda 2: Tyler Inloes paved the way with three RBIs, two triples and two hits in the Lebanon victory. A.J. Fritz tacked on two hits on three attempts, while Trevor Richmond had three on five attempts.

Northeastern 12, Indian Lake 2: Dylan Hand’s four RBIs, three hits and one double led in the NE victory. Alex Lockwood chipped in two RBIs, while Mac Davis threw for nine strikeouts on the mound.

St. Henry 1, Coldwater 0: Daylon Lange threw the shutout for St. Henry as they edged out Coldwater. Tyler Schlarman led the offense with two hits.

Tecumseh 5, Xenia 0: Daver Berner pitched a complete game, earning the shutout with seven strikeouts. Keaton Mohler sealed the deal offensively with four hits, two runs and a double.

Tri-Village 9, Bradford 3: Camren Munchel led the offense with two runs scored, two hits and one RBI. Jared Buckley tacked on two hits, one run, one double and one RBI for TV in the win.

Valley View 11, Bellbrook 9: Sam Whisman knocked out a home run for Valley View in the win. Jayden Elliott notched two home runs in the losing effort.

West Liberty-Salem 1, Greeneview 0: Thomas Allen drove in Patrick Harr for the go ahead run in the bottom of the eight inning to earn the win. Allen additionally pitched a complete game, striking out 12 batters over eight innings.

Softball

Anna 15, Fort Loramie 10: Aleah Frilling scored three runs as Fort Loramie fell to Anna. Clara Gephart tacked on two hits, two RBIs and one run scored. Abby Holthaus rounded out the offense with three hits and one RBI.

Coldwater 9, St. Henry 2: Kelsey Kahling doubled on her first attempt at bat, scoring two runs for Coldwater in the win. Molly Stienke went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Coldwater in hits, while striking out 10 batters in seven innings.

Jonathan Alder 16, Benjamin Logan 5: Kinzie Jones led Ben Logan offensively in the loss with three hits, two runs scored, a triple and a double. Grace Deardruff tacked on two hits, one run and one RBI.

Lakota West 8, Fairfield 3: Alyssa Triner paved the way for Lakota West, nabbing three hits and three runs in the winning effort. Corey Weaver and Taylor Williams each tacked on an additional two hits. Rachel Campbell, Hannah Miller and Jordan Shotwell scored for Fairfield.

West Liberty-Salem 17, Greeneview 1: WLS run-ruled Greeneview as Kelsey Day picked up the win on the mound. Maddy Stratton knocked out a homerun, adding on two runs scored, three RBIS, two hits and a triple. Hannah Riblet and Arrah Sandy chipped in two runs apiece.

Boys Tennis

Dixie 5, Madison 0: Mason Swigart, Devin Worley and Alex Perminov each recorded singles wins. Sam Owens and Steven Brock with Austin Guehring and Lukas Simoni swept the doubles competition via forfeit.

Eaton 5, Brookville 0: Breven Perry, Andrew Collins and Steven Perry all took home wins at the singles level of the match. Branson Ball and Aaron Tolliver with John Altom and Seth Bristow rounded out the sweep at doubles.

Lehman Catholic 5, Legacy Christian 0: The doubles duos of Sam Ritze and Danny Lins and Sean Toner and Cole Kramer won their sets in Lehman’s sweep.

Middletown 4, Hamilton 1: Sean Ramsey, Deniz Misirlioglu and Layne Witt all picked up singles wins in the victory over Hamilton.

Tecumseh 5, Kenton Ridge 0: Mitchell Foland, Drew Sarihan and Jacob Lewis all tallied wins to sweep the singles section. Tecumseh moves to 10-0 on the season with the win.

Waynesville 3, Preble Shawnee 2: Waynesville swept the doubles competition and notched a win at third singles from James Schneider to earn the win. Pierce Elliott and Luke Feck both tallied wins for Preble in the loss.

Boys Volleyball

Alter 3, Fenwick 1: Alter took a closely matched game, winning three sets to one. Andrew Rose led the way with 14 kills, 10 digs and four aces. Josh Kabel chipped in 40 assists, while Ethan Ditzel recorded 10 kills and two blocks.

Fairmont 3, Edgewood 0: Griffin Smith tallied three kills, while David Stolz had three blocks and Jordan Pater two aces as Edgewood fell to Fairmont. Fairmont won the sets 25-17, 25-16 and 25-14.
