HS Roundup 4/13: ‘Boro baseball beats Wayne in extras

The Springboro baseball team defeated Wayne 3-2 in walkoff fashion in extra innings on Friday.

Spencer Virtue, Cameron Rountree and Hayden Combs each plated a run for ‘Boro. Calvin Walters went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Tyler Kean was 2-for-3.

Dylan Donchez and Jordan Long scored a run apiece for Wayne.

Baseball

Northmont 6, Springfield 1: Cole Stephens collected three hits and three RBI along with scattering four hits and a walk in a solid start on the mound for Northmont. Adam Bendinelli also drove in a pair of runs. Avery Swigart scored the lone run for Springfield.

Centerville 6, Lebanon 2: Lebanon jumped out to a 2-0 lead but Centerville scores a run in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to earn the victory.

Monroe 5, Eaton 0: Kevin Kepner tossed a complete game shutout and Hunter Collins and Brayden Green each scored a pair of runs to help Monroe improve to 6-2.

Spg. Shawnee 11, Kenton Ridge 7: Luke Myers tallied four hits and Austin Frederick plated three runs to pace Shawnee, which scored six runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach. Matt Tateman drove in a pair of runs and Calvin Dibert doubled and tripled for Kenton Ridge.

Ben Logan 12, Graham 7: Garrett Dixon had four hits in five at bats, including a double to pace Ben Logan. Cole Waugh, Keegan Wilson, Micah Anderson, Jacob Powell and Curtis Gadson all had multiple hits as well.

Northwestern 11, Indian Lake 1: Gage Voorhees and Evan Noffke each drove in a pair of runs and Jake Parks punched out seven batters to lead Northwestern.

Ross 10, Edgewood 5: Logan Fuller doubled and drove in four to pace Ross, which scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth for a rally victory. Trevor House and Brock Tatum added two hits apiece. Corbin Craft and Ethan McCarty each had a pair of RBI for Edgewood.

Northeastern 16, Greeneview 1: Dylan Hand struck out eight to pick up the win and also went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBI to help his cause. Skylar Davis added four RBI and Garrett Peters drove in three.

West Liberty-Salem 13, Cedarville 0: Zack Glock tossed a one hit shutout, Thomas Allen blasted a three run homer and Trevor and Nick Burden pounded out run-scoring doubles for WLS.

Tri-Village 4, Ponitz 3: Dylan Finkbine earned his first varsity victory and Camren Munchel pulled off the save after getting out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the seventh.

Mississinawa Valley 16, Jackson Center 10: Zac Longfellow, Kyler Guillozet and Trent Collins pounded out three hits apiece to lead Mississinawa.

National Trail 13, Bethel 0: Peyton Lane, Hunter Lindsey and Cameron Harrison each drove in a pair of runs to help National Trail improve to 5-0 in conference play and 6-1 overall.

New Bremen 6, Fort Loramie 5: Luke Vonderhaar singled in Mitchell Hays in the bottom of the eighth for a walk-off win for New Bremen.

St. Henry 22, Houston 1: Ryan Luttmer went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored and five RBI to pace St. Henry. Parker Link added four RBI and Marc Siefring and Daylon Lange scored four runs apiece.

Softball

Northmont 7, Springfield 3: Hannah Seagraves drove in three runs, Marissa Bardonaro had two RBI and Sydney Weaver recorded the victory to improve to 2-0 for Northmont. Taryn Freer had a double for Springfield.

Badin 11, Alter 1: Nicole Rawlings went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Gracie McHugh was 2-for-3 with a triple and one RBI. Dana Anderson slammed a solo home run for Alter.

Carroll 5, Roger Bacon 1: Emma Hughes tallied 10 strikeouts while collecting the win for Carrolll. Marina Stevens added a double and Audrey Ward was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Monroe 5, Eaton 0: Alyssa Wagner struck out 13 to improve to 6-1 for Monroe. Sam Schwab blasted a home run and Faith Hensley added an in the park homer. Bekka Mowen and Bailey Worley each had a pair of hits for Eaton.

Kenton Ridge 9, Spg. Shawnee 0: Madison Hall doubled, homered and drove in three while Carly Turner doubled, tripled and improved to 8-0 on the mound for Kenton Ridge.

Graham 12, Ben Logan 0: Graham scored seven runs in the sixth inning to close out the game. Haley Wilson and Olivia Roose each had a hit in a losing effort for Ben Logan.

Northeastern 16, Greeneview 2: Hayley Suchland picked up the win for Northeastern, which jumped out to a big lead early with four run innings in the first and second. Allison Simpson and Caitlin Sweat notched the lone hits for Greeneview.

West Liberty-Salem 21, Cedarville 2: Mady Stratton homered and doubled, Kelsey Day recorded the victory and nine of the WLS batters chipped in hits.

Fort Recovery 16, Mississinawa Valley 7: Taydem Elson tallied three RBI and Kinsie Blocher collected four hits in a losing effort for Mississinawa.

Coldwater 6, Houston 0: Maddie Stienke and Rachel Klosterman each collected a pair of hits and Stienke also tossed the complete game shutout for Coldwater.

Boys Tennis

Preble Shawnee 4, Dayton Christian 1: Pierce Elliott won his first singles match in straight sets and Luke Feck and Allison Zornes added singles victories.

Miami Valley 4, Seven Hills 1: Unbeaten Miami Valley prevailed in a battle of state ranked teams. Colton Morehart defeated Max Yuan in straight sets in first singles.
