The Reds play the Pittsburgh Pirates at 4:10 p.m. March 28 in the season opener. Manfred, 60, is entering his fifth season as baseball commissioner.

Manfred visited Cincinnati during his first season on the job when the All-Star Game was held at Great American Ball Park. He met Reds legend Pete Rose for the first time before the game. Later in 2015, he denied Rose's request for reinstatement.
