Joes even GLSCL playoff series, will face Lima for title Wednesday

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League baseball title will be decided with a winner-take-all matchup.

The Hamilton Joes evened the best-of-five championship series at 2-2 with a 15-6 victory over the visiting Lima Locos on Tuesday evening at Foundation Field in Hamilton.

Designated hitter Blake Hart collected three hits and six RBIs for Hamilton, which put up four runs in the first inning and never trailed.

Ben Spitznagel and Tyler Thamann drove in two runs apiece for the Joes. Jackson Boyce, Spitznagel, Bryson Shelton, A.J. Compton and Mason Deanna each added two hits.

Mathew Szabo, the second of three Hamilton pitchers, picked up the win with 1.2 innings of work.

The championship will be decided at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday at Simmons Field in Lima.
