Jalin Marshall makes roster of New York Jets

Middletown High School graduate Jalin Marshall made the 53-man roster of the New York Jets. He survived the final cuts Saturday.

Marshall left Ohio State with two years of eligibility remaining to enter the NFL Draft but was not selected. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jets. In the preseason, he caught nine passes for 94 yards. He returned two kickoffs with a long return of 84 yards.

Marshall was one of three rookie wide receivers the Jets kept on the roster, along with undrafted free agent Robby Anderson and seventh-round pick Charone Peake.

The Jets open the season at 1 p.m. Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals in East Rutherford, N.J.
