INITIAL REPORT

Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins is among three players still in the running for one of the most-iconic trophies in sports.

The Downtown Athletic Cub announced Monday night Haskins is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy along with fellow quarterbacks Kyler Murray of Oklahoma and Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama.

They have been invited to the annual awards presentation ceremony in New York City on Saturday night.

Haskins eclipsed the 400-yard mark for the fifth time this season last week when he threw for a school-record 499 yards as the Buckeyes beat Northwestern 45-24 in the Big Ten championship game. He also tossed five touchdown passes a week after throwing for six scores in a stunning 62-39 rout of Michigan.

The winner of the Heisman Trophy will be announced at the end of the presentation show on ESPN on Saturday night. That is set to begin at 8 p.m.
