Senior goalkeeper Anna Hall has led the Eastern Kentucky University women’s soccer team to the No. 3 seed in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
The Ross High School graduate has played every minute in goal this fall for the Colonels. Hall is allowing 1.04 goals per game with a .759 save percentage and has six shutouts. She also has an assist.
Also contributing for EKU are junior defender Kacy Eckley (Mount Notre Dame) of Liberty Township, who has a goal, and freshman defender Katie Shaffer (Monroe), who has an assist. Both have played in every game.
Eastern Kentucky is 9-4-4 overall and 6-1-3 in the OVC, good for a second-place tie with Tennessee Tech behind Murray State (8-0-2).
The Colonels will host either No. 6 seed Tennessee Martin or seventh-seeded Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Sunday at noon.
• Junior midfielder Morgan Gibson (Lebanon) has tallied one goal and one assist in 14 starts for Mount Vernon Nazarene, which is 9-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Crossroads League.
Freshman defender Missy Emery (Lebanon) has played in 12 games and started six, while sophomore forward Skylar Lakes (Middletown Christian) has made 11 appearances off the bench.
The Cougars will host Grace (Ind.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Football: Sophomore place-kicker Jack Nguyen (Lakota West) is the second-leading scorer for Georgetown (Ky.), totaling 33 points by converting 24 of 26 extra points and 3 of 5 field goals.
The Tigers are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division. They will visit Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Men’s golf: Senior Chris Rossi (Fairfield) led Wright State with an 18-hole average of 73.5 this fall.
In five tournaments, Rossi finished as the Raiders’ leader three times and No. 2 man twice. He completed fall play last week by tying for 27th with a 75-70-78—223 in the Dayton Flyer Invitational at the par-71 NCR Country Club.
Volleyball: Redshirt senior middle blocker Ali Lake (Lakota East) has 87 kills, 31 digs and 31 total blocks for Ohio, which is 11-13 overall and 5-5 in the Mid-American Conference East Division.
The Bobcats will host Akron on Friday at 7 p.m.
