Browns release quarterback Robert Griffin III

The Cleveland Browns released Robert Griffin III today.

Griffin started just five games in his one season in Cleveland because of injuries. He was due to make a $750,000 roster bonus on Saturday, according to cleveland.com.

On Thursday, the Browns landed Texans QB Brock Osweiler and second-round draft pick in a trade.
