Bengals starter returns to practice

Cincinnati Bengals starting safety Shawn Williams returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday with a knee injury suffered in Sunday’s 27-24 overtime loss at Green Bay.

Williams, who was on the rehab field Wednesday, was one of the six Bengals who were limited participants Thursday, along with running back Giovani Bernard (thigh), wide receiver Cody Core (ribs), defensive end Carlos Dunlap (shoulder), guard Trey Hopkins (knee) and wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee).

Tight end Tyler Eifert (back). wide receiver John Ross (knee) and safety Derron Smith (annkle) are expected to miss their second consecutive game Sunday at Cleveland.

Three players who were limited Wednesday were upgraded to full participation Thursday — safety George Iloka (hamstring) and cornerbacks Josh Shaw (hip) and KeiVarae Russell (hamstring).
