The win-less Bengals played their best game of the year last Sunday, but a loss is a loss.

After a 27-24 overtime defeat in the Packers, the Bengals dropped to No. 22 in Pro Football Focus’ power rankings.

The system calculates current performance and projects forward. It’s obviously imperfect - to have the Panthers in the top 10, for example, is questionable given their performances so far.

But the Bengals at No. 22 is likley better than the consensus. With a game against the Browns this week, they’ll have a chance to ascend with a win.
