Bengals’ Dalton on Kaepernick report: ‘Anybody can create a headline’

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton said he wasn’t aware of the Pro Football Talk report that said some players want the team to sign Colin Kaepernick.

When Dalton was the given the details, he offered a dismissive response.

“Anybody can create a headline,” he said.

The report also suggested the Bengals could be ready to bench Dalton in favor of McCarron following a shaky start that has seen the offense fail to score a touchdown while Dalton has thrown four interceptions and lost a fumble.

“There’s no reason to read anything because it doesn’t mean anything,” Dalton said. “All that matters is what’s being said in this organization and this team and what happens in this locker room.”
