The biggest reaction from the crowd of about 950 in attendance at the first day of Bengals training camp came when Andy Dalton threw a long touchdown pass to John Ross during an 11-on-11 team drill.

It wasn’t the first big catch he has made in a practice with the Bengals but after a disappointing rookie season that was cut short by injury, Ross seemed pleased to show his abilities in front of an audience. The 2017 first-round draft pick played just 17 snaps last year.

“We’ve been doing it and now people get a chance to see all the work he’s put in,” Dalton said of the touchdown catch. “We expect big things from him. He’s so talented, and he’s going to help us win a lot of games.”
