What’s better than 29 years of a green chile festival? Thirty years of that delicioso affair.
Chuy’s will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its Green Chile Festival from Monday, Aug. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 2.
The Tex-Mex restaurant chain will feature a menu that includes green chile chicken flautas (flautas stuffed with green chiles and fresh spinach and drizzled with crema especial) and the King Carne Burrito (a burrito stuffed with ground sirloin, bacon, green chiles and French fried potatoes).
Chuy’s will also feature Chicken Velvet Enchiladas and the New Mexican Martini. Both are made with Hatch green chiles. The chiles are picked just once a year beginning in August.
The festival is timed to take advantage of the green chile harvest season in Hatch, N.M.
The restaurant credits its co-founders with being the first to bring chiles to Central Texas from the Hatch Valley of New Mexico in the 1980s.
Chile has 92 restaurants including locations at 2717 Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek; 10445 Innovation Drive at Austin landing in Miamisburg and 9538 Civic Center Boulevard in West Chester.
