Russell David Bell, 85, passed away January 31, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 6, 1939 at home in Clark County, Ohio to the late Laura (Burr) and Robert "Bob" Bell. Russell graduated from Springfield High School in 1957. He then entered the Army, proudly served in France, and was later called back to duty for the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from International Harvester/Navistar after 37 years employment. Russell lived for and loved starting each day reading the Bible and teaching others the sports of primitive hunting, trapping, and fishing. Some of his fondest memories were of skills learned from his grandfather, Clifford Burr. Russell was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Per his wishes, a service will be scheduled to scatter his ashes on his favorite hunting grounds in the hills of his countryside home in Blue Creek, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Russell has requested contributions be made to the USA Shooting Team, U.S. Olympic Training Center, 1 Olympic Plaza, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909, or to your favorite wildlife or animal rescue organization.
