Beagle with PTSD to be honored with Animal Hero Award

Her life didn’t start out as an easy one. Scarlett the beagle though will be honored for persevering and surviving as a lab animal before finally finding a happy life.

Scarlett has been named the Inspirational Animal of the Year at the Animal Hero Awards.

She suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder after she was a laboratory test subject for two years.

It is not known exactly what tests were performed on Scarlett, due to an agreement with the lab to free and not kill test animals, but her owners say that she is terrified of loud noises, is afraid of being covered up and has eating issues, the Mirror reported.
