Authorities investigated the case after two teenage girls found the syringe in one of their candy bags, the CBC reported. It is believed that the cat knocked over a box of insulin syringes, and one fell into a bag of candy that was then handed out to trick-or-treaters.

According to the CBC, the cat refused comment.
