Two weeks after I85 blaze, train traffic held for railroad bridge fire

Two weeks after the I-85 fire and bridge collapse, crews early Thursday had to battle another massive fire, this time under a railroad bridge in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, officials said.

"We are holding train traffic until a bridge inspector gives the OK," CSX spokeswoman Laura Phelps told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution just before 9 a.m. "They're on the way there right now."

Shortly after 7 a.m., Atlanta police notified CSX of the fire, which broke out near Cheshire Bridge Road and Buford Highway — not far from the scene of the March 30 fire on I-85.

Authorities do not know how the railroad bridge fire started. That is under investigation.
