A substitute Fairfield middle school teacher was arrested after he was observed allegedly performing a sex act on himself in a classroom while students were present.

Tracey J. Abraham, of Cincinnati, was charged with public indecency, a first-degree misdemeanor.

2. “What to know about Hamilton’s first apparent homicide of 2019,” Jan. 29

A 18-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Hamilton’s Lindenwald neighborhood.

Londale Harvey, 18, of Chestnut Street in Hamilton, died Sunday at a Cincinnati hospital after suffering gunshot wounds, according to Hamilton police and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

3. “Police confirm 3 in custody related to Middletown shooting death of December 2018,” Jan. 1

Middletown police confirmed that three people have been taken into custody and charged in connection with the Dec. 14 death of Benny Barefield.

Barefield, 48, of the 800 block of Ninth Avenue, was found at 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 in his red Buick Lucerne at the corner of Yankee Road and Ninth Avenue. He was taken to Atrium Medical Center and pronounced dead, according to Middletown police.

A family member checked Benny Barefield’s Ninth Avenue house on Dec. 26, 2018 after learning from her sister that someone was trying to sell Barefield’s personal items, according to the Middletown police report.

Bridgewater Falls is set to welcome three new retailers in the coming few months, according to Matthew Chudoba, manager of RPT Realty, which owns and operates Bridgewater Falls.

7. “New Miami High School lockdown lifted after officials find no credible threat,” Jan. 14

New Miami High School in St. Clair Twp. was put on lockdown after a report of a possible threat in a parking lot.

Butler County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Anthony Dwyer said there did not appear to be a credible threat after an investigation.
