Task force recovers 400 grams of meth in traffic stop of Hamilton man

The Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force arrested a Hamilton man with 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine on Wednesday, officials said.

During a traffic stop, task force members allegedly found the meth on De’Antae Lamont Tae Wallace, 31, a passenger in a 2008 gold Kia Sorento, according to a release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Wallace then allegedly tried to destroy the evidence during the stop. Wallace was charged with:

• Possession of Drug, a felony

• Trafficking in Drugs, a felony

• Tampering with Evidence, a felony

He was booked into the Butler County Jail, where he remained in custody as of Friday morning.

“This traffic stop concluded an investigation where narcotics were being transported and distributed in the Butler County Ohio area,” the release said.

“This has been a lengthy investigation into Wallace, who authorities believe is the head of the organization. Wallace was utilizing multiple avenues of transportation of narcotics into the Butler County Ohio area.”
