New Jersey police are warning residents in Essex County to be aware of spiked tire-slashing devices that have been placed near driveways, NJ.com reported.
Vernon Township police said they have received reports of the metal devices at driveways and the entrances to farms, the website reported.
On its Facebook page Wednesday, Vernon police asked residents to "report all suspicious vehicles and persons, especially in the overnight hours."
"We ask that anyone who has farm-like property to be vigilant and check the end of your driveway when you are pulling in or out."
