A 34-year-old man overdosed outside a Middletown church Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Officers found Josh Day, at-large, lying on his back in the grassy area next to the side entrance of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 212 S. Broad St., police said. He was unconscious with shallow breathing, police said.
Middletown paramedics administered six milligrams of Narcan, which reverses the effects of heroin, and Day regained consciousness, according to a police report.
Day told officers he had shot up with an unknown amount of heroin. He was transported to Atrium Medical Center for treatment.
