Danielle Foulk and her family live in the old Wehr family homestead in southwestern Butler County built in 1837. Foulk has immersed herself in the history of the home collecting found objects on the property and researching how the home was used as a tavern stop for hog drivers and more through the years. The Wehr Homestead is in Reily Twp. John Wehr and his wife, Sarah, were some of the earliest settlers in the area. Wehr was awarded the deed to 192 acres by President James Monroe on Sept. 21, 1819.
