All of the closings were scheduled to take place on March 11, according to a letter written by Nicole Neal, Bentley’s merchandising manager.
The stores’ closings were the result of ongoing litigation, combined with the chain’s expansion into new markets, which has “collectively placed a strain on our resources,” Neal said.
The Ohio stores that closed include one at 7244 Outfitters Way in West Chester Twp. in front of Cabela’s, as well as locations in Anderson Twp., Dublin, Reynoldsburg, Cherry Grove and Western Village.
“These were newer markets that take so many resources to build. Resources that we do not have at this time,” Neal said in the letter.
Biddergy.com will be conducting online liquidation auctions to sell all equipment and fixtures, including racking, store displays and freezers. Most equipment is less than two years old.
