— DeWine has 45 percent while Cordray has 44 percent support;
— 54 percent of Ohio likely voters disapprove of the job President Donald Trump is doing, including 43 percent who report that they “strongly” disapprove, while 45 percent like the job he’s doing;
— 72 percent disapprove of the way Congress is doing its job but 51 percent approve of the way their member of Congress is handing his or her job.
— Voters named healthcare and the economy as the top issues in determining who they’ll support for public office.
The online poll included a sample of 1,074 likely voters.

Another poll of likely voters released Monday by NBC News/Marist Poll found similar results:
— Cordray and DeWine tied at 44 percent and third party candidates Travis Irvine and Constance Gadell-Newton tied at 3 percent;
— Trump’s job approval rating is 44 percent with 51 percent disapproval; and
— The economy and health care are the top issues.
The NBC News/Marist Poll, conducted Sept. 16-20, surveyed 564 likely voters.
Both polls were still in the field when DeWine and Cordray appeared in their first of three gubernatorial debates at the University of Dayton on Sept. 19.
The next debate is 7 p.m. Monday at Marietta College.
