Woman’s bulldog crushed beneath grooming table at Petsmart

A Nevada woman is grieving after her dog was crushed by a grooming table at Petsmart.

Vikki Seifert took Minni, her 2-year-old bulldog, for a grooming appointment, a bath and nail trim, and less than 15 minutes later, the dog was dead, KVVU reported.

"I ran in there," Seifert told KVVU. "When I went in, she was crushed under a grooming table. They said that they had listened for her heartbeat and she was gone."

Seifert is waiting for a necropsy. She also wants a lawyer to view the surveillance video of the incident in order to decide whether she will file a lawsuit.

Petsmart said only immediate family can watch it, KVVU reported.

"A tragic accident occurred in our grooming salon, which led to the heartbreaking loss of Minni," the company told KVVU. "There's nothing more important than the safety of the pets in our care, and we immediately launched a comprehensive investigation into how this type of unprecedented event could have possibly happened. We have been in constant contact with the pet parent since this occurred and will continue to do everything we can to help support her during this difficult time."
