Tennessee residents can qualify to carry a concealed weapon through an online training course that won’t require them to fire a weapon starting Wednesday.
The gun law changes were passed earlier in 2019 in an effort to reduce "time-consuming and burdensome" training requirements, WVLT reported.
The online course is 90 minutes and does not require participants to fire a gun. The permit allows users to open and conceal carry.
The current permit process which takes eight hours and includes live-firing of a weapon will still be an option known as the enhanced handgun carry permit.
