According to the BBC, Wonder, 69, was performing onstage at the British Summer Time Hyde Park festival when he made the announcement Saturday night.

"I'm going to have surgery," he said. "I'm going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year. I'm all good, I'm all good, I'm all good. I have a donor; it's all good."

The Grammy Award-winning singer has a "serious medical condition," the Detroit Free Press reported last week. No further information was immediately available.

He added that he will play three more concerts before going on hiatus, according to the BBC.
