Kelly Leisure pulled a blue jacket from his closet, which happened to contain the spider, according to KETV.
He was bitten and bedridden for five days before a neighbor noticed his car had not moved.
"If I would have been in that room for another 24 hours I would have been gone," Leisure told KETV.
Leisure was taken to the hospital where he was treated for the nearly 6-inch wound on his back. He was released and is recovering.
Leisure said he can’t sleep in his bed anymore and he keeps looking out for spiders hiding around his house.
