Shelley Morrison, Rosario on 'Will & Grace,' dies

Shelley Morrison, best known for her role as Rosario on "Will & Grace," has died.

Morrison was 83.

Her husband, Walter Dominguez, said she died of heart failure Sunday, The New York Times reported. She died at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, NBC News reported.

She was the daughter of Spanish immigrants, born and raised in the Bronx before she moved to Los Angeles. That's where she began her stage career and eventually became one of the first female stage producers in LA, The New York Times reported.

While known for her role as Rosario, the vocal maid of Karen Walker, played by Megan Mullally, she had many roles on both the small and big screen, including Sister Sixto on "The Flying Nun," "Murder She Wrote," "Home Improvement" and "Columbo.

She played her signature role of Rosario from 1999 to 2006 in 68 episodes of "Will & Grace" but had retired from acting before the show's revival in 2017, NBC News reported.

Along with her husband, Morrison leaves behind six adopted children, three boys and three girls, The New York Times reported.

Her fellow "Will & Grace" cast members responded to her death on social media.
