Neil Peart, Canadian rock band Rush’s drummer known for his technical proficiency is dead. He was 67.

His publicist confirmed to the CBC Peart died Tuesday. The cause of death was brain cancer, Rolling Stone reported.

Peart, who lived in Santa Monica, California, retired from music after Rush's final tour in 2015, the CBC reported.
The progressive rock band formed in the 1970s. They sold more than 30 million albums and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
