Premature baby hippo, Fiona, pictured with parents for first time at Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden released the first picture of Fiona, the baby hippo, with her parents, Bibi and Henry, at the zoo's hippopotamus exhibit on Tuesday.

The trio Nile hippos was introduced at the zoo's outdoor hippo pool.

“The short introduction went well,” zoo officials said in a Facebook post.

“Bibi intervened when Henry got too close to Fiona, which was exactly what we were hoping to see,” according to the post.

Fiona was six-weeks early and 25 pounds underweight when she was born at the zoo in January. She was separated from the other hippos as staff cared for her.

Now she’s 2 feet tall and weighs 356 pounds.

The zoo says Fiona is now the same size as a baby hippo born at full term.

The calf could weigh as much as 3,500 pounds one day, the average weight of an adult Nile hippo, which is so strong it can crush a crocodile with its jaws and sharp teeth, according to the zoo.

Fiona was the first Nile hippo born at the Cincinnati Zoo in 75 years.
