Ramone Sanabria, of Scranton, was arraigned Thursday on simple assault and harassment charges, WNEP-TV reported. His bail was set at $15,000.
Sanabria was one of three teens in a car that was parked in a handicap parking spot front of the victim’s house, according to court documents. The victim told police that he asked the teens when they planned to move, and that Sanabria became irate.
Surveillance video shows Sanabria exiting the car as it starts to drive away. He then appears to run up to the victim and shove him to the ground in the video.
The victim hit his head on a concrete stand as he fell, causing him to be unconscious for about 10 minutes, the victim’s granddaughter, Courtney Brady, told WNEP-TV.
"He has back surgeries done. He has bad knees. There was no need for any of this," Brady said.
The victim is continuing to recover at home, she said.
Police haven’t said if they have found the other two teens who were in the car, or whether they will be charged.
