No one RSVP's to boy's party, police save the day

A little boy loved all things police, so when his seventh's birthday party was in the planning stages, it was going to be police themed.

But Westyn Ziegler was nearly disappointed when the 25 children he invited didn't RSVP, WXIN reported.

Westyn's mother thought she was going to have to cancel the celebration, but Officer Jeremy Elliott saved the day.

The Prince's Lakes police officer had already agreed to give Westyn a ride in his cruiser, but then decided to take it to the next level.

"I learned of this (no one RSVPing) and decided to throw him a party," Elliott said. "Everyone should have a party for their seventh birthday."

Elliott quietly called in the reserves, WXIN reported.

They drove up to town hall to the greeting of officers from all over their area. Some police officers came in on their day off.

The men and women in blue had decorations, pizza, ice cream, cake and presents for Westyn's big day. They also made him an honorary officer.

Westyn's mother, Kelly, said, "It's just beyond me to see all these police officers that my son loves to celebrate him and celebrate with him."
