John Hickenlooper, the former governor of Colorado, is running for president in 2020.

In a Monday morning tweet, the 66-year-old former geologist and restaurant owner shared a video announcing he is seeking the Democratic nomination.

"It's official: I'm asking you to interview me for President," he tweeted. "Our country is in crisis, and we need someone who knows how to bring people together and get things done. This is my record, but I've never done it alone."

Unlike some of his 2020 competitors, Hickenlooper, a moderate, "has hedged on supporting Democratic rallying cries like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal," the AP reported.
