It has happened only 332 times before in the history of the Boy Scouts, but an Indiana Eagle Scout has earned every merit badge the scouts offer.

Zach Teeple, a member of Troop 149, received his final 27 badges this week during the Court of Honor.

Teeple has now earned 137 badges, WANE reported.

"I thought that would be a good goal and a fun challenge," Teeple told WANE.

He said that he became an Eagle Scout at the age of 13 after earning 21 merit badges. That's when he decided to go for them all and five years later, he has attained the distinction.

Teeple’s troop leaders hope that he inspires his fellow scouts to try the feat.
