Deep discount: Michigan hotel selling TVs, king-size beds for $5 each

Open up your wallets. A Michigan hotel is having a liquidation sale.

The Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is hosting a guest room sale from the Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel in Mount Pleasant, MLive reported. Televisions and king-size beds are priced for $5, MLive reported. Smaller items, such as luggage racks and trash cans, will be handed out for free.

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe officials announced the sale in a Facebook post.

Tribal members got first crack at the items Monday morning, but the sale begins for the general public Tuesday at 10 a.m., MLive reported.

The hotel opened in 2012.

Other items for sale for $5 include queen-size beds (including box springs, frames and headboards), chairs, desks, mirrors, five-piece dining sets, lamps, refrigerators, safes, sofa sleepers, microwaves and other items, tribe officials wrote on Facebook.

While customers can purchase as many different items as they want, they can only buy four of one particular item.

The items are being sold because the hotel is being renovated with new carpet, wall coverings and light fixtures, Erik Rodriguez, the hotel's interim public relations director, told MLive. Rodriguez added the hotel lobby and registration area also will be spruced up, and all hotel rooms will get a makeover.
