Police were called to the restaurant in Irving and found the newborn dead inside the trash can, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Investigators said the woman gave birth around 4 p.m. in the bathroom, WFAA reported. After giving birth, the woman left the restaurant, authorities told the television station.
Employees discovered the child about half an hour later while cleaning the restroom, WFAA reported. The child's gender was not revealed, and police said they will not know whether the child was stillborn or born alive until an autopsy is performed, the Morning News reported.
