Broad Street Gyros restaurant license was suspended and will remain closed until the outcome of a criminal investigation after the customer discovered the bag of cocaine with her cheese sticks Nov. 21.

"I'm scared. (The restaurant) is my life," restaurant owner Carrie Demoff told the Chicago Tribune. "People on the street seem to know more about what happened than I do. I'm shocked, embarrassed, angry."

A restaurant employee told the woman they “were going to hook her up” on the order, police said.

"The woman thought she was getting more food," detective Sgt. Kyle Strbjak told the Tribune.

Someone from the restaurant called the woman offering to pick up the order, according to WGN.

Police went to the restaurant and while a K-9 unit detected the presence of drugs in the women's restroom and office, there were no actual drugs recovered, according to the Tribune.

Demoff said the woman working that night is no longer employed at the restaurant.

“I have no idea what happened and they didn’t find anything,” Demoff said.

No criminal charges have been filed.
