Another state is reintroducing cursive writing to its curriculum.
According to KVUE-TV, Texas public school second-graders will start learning the penmanship style, once abandoned by many classrooms, beginning this fall when changes to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards take effect.
Under the new standards, which the State Board of Education adopted in 2017, students should know how to "write complete words, thoughts and answers legibly in cursive" in third grade.

At least a dozen other states have enacted similar mandates, including Louisiana, Florida and California, WTTW reported.
