You never know what you will get during one of those popular gift exchange games that happen around the holidays.

Rakhi Desai took home a stuffed teddy bear.

She took it home, where it sat for two weeks. Then she decided to find out more about the bear that had Neptune Society sewn on its foot. The bear also had a tag that said, "I hope I can bring you comfort in whatever life brings your way."

The message, and the feel of the bear, that felt more like pebbles or rocks, not normal stuffing, led Desai to realize the bear contained someone's cremains, KTRK reported.

"It seems to be that this bear is very special to somebody and belongs in somebody's family," Desai told KTRK.

The friend who used it as part of the gift exchange said she got it from an estate sale, but doesn’t remember when or where exactly.

Desai also reached out to the company that made the bear, but sadly, it does not track who owns what bear, KTRK reported.

She has one glimmer of hope, however. The bear has the name included on the tag and she hopes that eventually the bear will be reunited with the rightful family.
