Ariana Grande claps back at jokes about fiance Pete Davidson’s eyes

Davidson, 24, has battled Crohn’s disease, an autoimmune disorder, since he was a teenager.

He first talked openly about his struggle with Crohn's disease in an interview with High Times magazine in 2016.

"I got Crohn's disease when I was 17 or 18," Davidson said. "My stomach would be in pain all day and I wouldn't be able to eat. I'm sick, I have Crohn's ... so it sucks."

Crohn's is a form of inflammatory bowel disease that affects an estimated 780,000 people in the United States, according to the Mayo Clinic.

It causes inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, with symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, weight loss and skin changes.

Davidson told High Times medicinal marijuana helps keep his symptoms under control.

"I found that the medicines that the doctors were prescribing me and seeing all these doctors and trying new things … weed would be the only thing that would help me eat," Davidson said. "I wouldn't be able to do 'Saturday Night Live' if I didn't smoke weed. I wouldn't be able to do anything really. Me performing not high has gone awful. It's awful for me because I don't feel well."

Davidson also recently opened up about his struggles with Borderline Personality Disorder in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

Grande’s support for Davidson was backed up by fans, who retweeted her thousands of times and attacked Barstool Sports for the comment.

"Genuinely imagine having the audacity to write such an awful article as this," one follower wrote. "You literally couldn't pay me enough to do that."

Barstool Sports responded by publishing another article slamming Grande’s response, saying she is “being roasted online,” citing a New York Post report that Crohn’s disease doesn’t cause skin pigmentation around the eyes.
